SUNday
The day after almost 3 days of dark, cloudy skies and sporadic rains when storm Ofel hit our place, my 4 1/2 year old son woke up very early to a bright new day. Upon waking up, he turned to me and asked while his eyes were staring straight out of the window,
"Mama, what day is it?"
I replied,
"It's Friday."
"No!" he emphatically said.
I gave him my here-you-go-you-don't-believe-in-me-again look.
"Chase, yesterday was Thursday, so today is Friday."
I was about to sing the 7-day-in-a-week song which he learned in school when he protested,
"NO! Today is Sunday! Look, there's the SUN!"
He was pointing to the early morning bright sun casting an orange glow to every green leaf its rays happened to touch.
